The carved granite Wilkenfeld Bench sits near the Houston Garden Center in Hermann Park, offering a peaceful place for visitors to enjoy the roses. The rose garden, which dates to the late 1930s, features a broad range of antique roses, found garden roses, polyanthas, Chinas, Bourbons, teas, climbers, and roses which have received the Earth-Kind designation. The bench was created by Tommy Schlitzberger, of the family-owned Schlitzberger Stone Designs, established in Houston in 1961.
