Gracing the grounds of Sesquicentennial Park is a portrait sculpture of the former Secretary of State, James A. Baker III. The figure is placed about 100 yards from a sculpture of his friend and former boss, George H.W. Bush, the 41st President of the United States. The James A. Baker III Monument is lined up such that he appears to look directly at Mr. Bush. Each eight-foot bronze sculpture was designed by Chas Fagan, who also created the Lyndon B. Johnson Monument in Houston and the President Ronald Regan Monument, part of the National Statuary Hall Collection in Washington, DC, among others.
